Topographic Map

This is a topographic map that is meant to illustrate the igneous activity in Mount Dome, Califronia. This map shows the areas with higher concentrations of lava. It also shows the borders between different areas. Wildlife preserves, mountains and mountain ranges can all be seen in this National Forest. Topographic Maps were historically created using land surveys. They are highly detailed and usually very accurate. Among other uses, they can be used for geographic planning or for maps for hikers.
